Okay so I'm getting my X2 5000+ and am getting ready for an AM2 system but as many know, no Crossfire AM2 boards are out yet (at least any good ones)

Should I just get a non crossfire AM2 board and only upgrade when I know for sure I'll be using a second GPU? Should I hold out on a crossfire board until 2H'07 when they put out those 4X4 boards?

I dont know, I rarely deal with hardware outside of my sporadic upgrades. I just rushed and slapped my current PC together when I built it so I want to do a little more research this time around and make sure this isn't another rush job.

I know I wont be getting 2 R600 cards when they come out so a Crossfire setup COULD be posponed and the most imporant thing right now is just getting a good AM2 system running rather than having parts collect dust for months.

If this is the case and you need a system up and running now, then just go with a solid non-crossfire board now, and upgrade some time next year when the new boards have been out a bit, with whatever bugs that may be present worked out with BIOS updates. Prices should be lower then as well.

However, I admit that I haven't been following the Crossfire boards that well, so some good choices may be up for release soon that may be worth waiting for.

Im also waiting on the Asus man... if you take a look at the AM2 Crossfire thread you can see a whole slew of people in the same boat. We think the ETA on the asus one is about a week. Stick in there and maybe you wont have to waste money on a board you dont really want
