Need Memory tweaking advice

hehe like I said before in a previous thread.. I know computers...but have NEVER tweaked one out for pure performance..so am kinda lost in the memory area... Any help would be apreciated...

Basicly what I am asking is this.. I have the Soyo P4x400 Dragon Ultra Platinum MB.. and Corair PC3200 case 2 (dumped the mushkin since it was 2.5).... Going through the bios I have an IDEA, of what settings I should set my memory at for optimum performance... but I don't want to risk my whole rig on an idea hehe. So I am asking here.. what should I set all my Memory settings at in the Bios.. right now I have this..

Case 2.5 (I know this should be set at 2 since my mem supports it..but have not set it yet, since I do not know if it is reliant upon the below specs)
Precharge 3t
Active to precharge 7t
Active to CMD (Trcd) 3t
Dramm Command Rate 2t command
Dramm Burst Len 4
Wriet Recovery Time 3t
Dramm Access Time 3t

and my FSB Freq is 133, and current Dram Freq is 133....

Thanks in advance for any help here 🙂

if your current dram freq is 133, that is way below what it is rated at
you should have no problem putting the numbers to their lowest values available

Thanks.. yeah it's rated at 200...

The specs acording to Corsiar... are 2-3-3-6-1T command...

Now I know what part to change to get the 1T for command.... I mean it's obvious hehe

But the specs dont say what the 2-3-3-6 ones are.. I mean I could guess lol

Think I should just set all of the above at there lowest settings (other than the Dram Freq that is) and give it a whirl? And up the dram freq too 200...since it is rated at that hehe. I'm being overly cautious here because I REALY don't want to fry my system, I don't have the money to replace any of my components at the moment, and can't afford to be without my system lol.

hehe I think I figured it out...

2-3-3-6-T1

Correct me if I'm wrong... the first 2 is the CL of the memory.. first 3 is Precharge to Active TRP setting... second 3 is active to CMD setting... the 6 is Active to precharge... and then t1 is just the Dram Command rate...

That right or wrong?

i dont know really, i never paid attn to that stuff hehe, just do it and find out if it works or not...

which reminds me, just an fyi, if you do screw up ever, like it wont post, learn how to reset the CMOS right now

it is a valuable thing to learn how to do, consult motherboard manual for the specifics as it can be somewhat different for different manufacturers

hehe I'm not that computer stupid *grin*

I am REALY good at fixing computers and making 'em run.. I just never botherd going with any settings other than default as far as memory and processor stuff is concerned. This is my first system that I am tweaking for pure performance 🙂 usualy I wold just let the bios do it's thing 😉

Okay... I am tired of trying to dig through the Jedec info... especialy since none of it has thus far pointed me to what exactly 2-3-3-6-T1 means..

Can anyone enlighten me as to what each each number value represents in most system bios's.
