I have a P4 2.4c chip that i know can go 3.5ghz+ at least. Im fixing to buy some ram for it and i was wondering how much of a difference getting some OCZ 2x256 pc4400 [2.5-4-4-8] for $189.00 vs OCZ 2x256 pc4400 [3-4-4-8] for $159.00 would actually make. Is the slightly tighter timing really worth the extra $30, cuz im on a budget.....and for that matter is OCZ all its cracked up to be or could i just go with some newegg.com special A-DATA 2x256M DDR PC-4000 [3-4-4-8] for $110!!!

ocz is ok ram i would go with geil or corsaire. as for the timings look at it this way the chips on the 2.5 stick are more stable at higher speeds than the chips on the 3 stick that means they are best for ocing whenever ocing go with the most efficient chips.

ive had major problems with geil that cost me $2000 (long story) so im not too quick to reccommend them, but i do have some great corsair Ram. if your planning on overclocking to 3ghz+ id definitely go with corsair!
