Appreciate any ideas and where I may be able to purchase a MB for this CPU. Thanks!

The abit board supports it just fine. Using both boards, I actually prefer the DFI infinity ultra over it. The only reason is I could get a much higher stable FSB.

Why does this leave it off the list and when I put it in my NF-7S V2.0 it did not recognize it?

NF-7 S compatibility

that is just the way it is... technically speaking, no desktop board is compatible with the 2500 mobile since it is a mobile chip, but almost any Socket A board will accept it. You want to make sure that the board you choose has the ability to change the multiplier in BIOS, as well as having lots of voltage options both for the VCore and the VDimm, and the North Bridege to some degree.

I used an AN7 for about year before i switched to Intel and that machine was incredibly stable, I have heard nothing but good things about the NF7-S, and the DFI Infinity... so pick one that best suits your needs and you should be good.

How about the Shuttle AN35N-Ultra? Heck, are these enthusiast boards for socket A even being made anymore?

NF7-S V2.0......... See the pattern here? :D

I've build 3 different NF7-S v2.0 / Athlon XP-M systems and all have been rock solid performers.

Shuttle AN35N-Ultra is a very good choice, generally less money than the Abit, but it does lack a few features that the Abit has.
If I could find a couple more AN35N boards I would prob buy them.

The 2500+ M multiplier unlocked btw. Try running the multiplier at 10.5 and 166fsb and if you plan to OC, go from there. I still love my 2500+ moby and abit nf7-s 2.0!

Umm, i thought this thread was wat is the best mobo for the adm 2500 xp-m. my dad has the asus A7N8X-E Deluxe and it rocks. not to expensive and yet lots of features. soundstorm 5.1 sound, dual lan, firewire, windvd suite, and more. and while newegg used to stock it, it was the num 1 most recomended board for the xp-m 2500+. Anyway, best of luck.
