I ordered a socket am2 motherboard from newegg. I got it today, so yeah I was really excited. But on the board where the cpu goes, it says "Socket 774" But on newegg.com it doesnt say socket 774 it just says socket AM2. What do I do!?
Greatly appreciated. Im returning it now for a refund. Im going to order from tigerdirect. They took care of me. Yes Im new to the forums and nice to meet everyone. Im from hardforum
Actually I don't like tigerdirect. Newegg has much better service. It was probably just a shipping error. It's bound to happen in such a large company. I actually use NCIX since i'm from canada. They have price match (canada only) and great service. I had a shipping problem and these guys went way out of their way to help me out.

Newegg makes the rare mistake, but they have the best customer service I've ever dealt with... Tiger Direct on the other hand is shaky at best & should be avoided in my opinion.
I suggest you simply contact Newegg tomorrow & get your problem taken care of... if they made the mistake I'm sure they'll correct it for you with no hassle at all.
Well im returning the board and I reorded the same board from their site. They sent me the socket 754 board. They have no technical support and the one lady rushed me off the phone, how rude. And I guess im supposed to just give the box the ups and theyll take it and ship it.
