I need to find a low wattage pure sine wave inverter for my mother in laws car. It needs to be about 65-100W continuous power, it will power two netbooks and a small air card router. I'm trying to find something a bit cheaper than the 100$ plus S&H Samlex 150/300W inverters as she doesn't need that much power nor do I think the power points in her Freestyle could ever provide it.

So recommend away :).

try checking the local electronic store and see what they have. Just curious what are the two netbooks and aircard router being used for in the car? Im assuming going on long trips and stuff?

I don't know how much lower pure sine inverters will go; and it can't hurt to have a little extra power available. It's preferable to run it a bit below capacity, rather than risk running it right to its limits.

Are you sure you even need pure sine wave? I think DC electronics stuff is alright with squarewave AC, as it goes through all kinds of filtering circuitry to produce good DC anyway. AC motors are more likely to have problems with a squarewave.

Yes it's for long trips, 16hours between hotel stops.

I'm trying to research the types. I see some people claim the cheap ones will damage their device. I don't know if that's true for them all though.
