also should I join a team?
my machine is based on an xp2500 cpu running on a soyo kt6 dragon at 2200 mhz.

i guess you just need to find a project that interests you first. I'm guessing most of the major projects have linux clients.
So after finding a project then you could get specific help setting up if you need it.
You don't need to join at team but you sure are welcome to join AnandTech in any of the projects we are running 🙂
I like boinc best but am not sure how to install it on my machine. I beleive I will need to compile it from source code "waaay over my head" so any suggestions or does someone have a copy of boinc that will work with suse 10?
