I can't seem to find any documentation on this HD. It came out of an old Digital Workstation that was not working. Does anyone know wher the jumpers should be to have this SCSI HD as the Master and an IDE HD as a Slave?
Thanks

You can't have a SCSI drive as master OR slave, they are just ID's on the SCSI chain.

The IDE bus is a separate bus. Your bios CAN however (in some cases) decide to boot off of IDE or SCSI first, if that is the real question. If so, what motherboard do you have ?

You have to have an entirely separate SCSI adapter for SCSI drives. They DO NOT RUN on IDE adapters and could be damaged if you do it. IAC, the connectors aren't even the same which should have given you a clue - duh... You can find spec sheets and installation guides on Quantum drives on the Maxtor web site as they bought Quantum's HD business quite a while back.
. There is also no such thing as Master/Slave in SCSI. Each drive gets a SCSI Id (0-15) and the you set up which one is bootable in the adapter's BIOS. Here is some good info: http://www.scsifaq.org .

Thanks Zepper. Your so nice about stuff. NOT. Never trust the penguin. Penguins are bad and not cute at all. Anyway you're about an hour late. I already found the info on Maxtors site. But thanks, really ;).
