Need Intel 850 chipset-based info

Do any of you know if an Intel 850 chipset-based motherboard will support PC1066 RAM?

I bought this PC from Gateway 3 years ago with PC800 RD-RAM pre-installed. I have read that some motherboards are friendly to the PC1066 increase even if they originally used PC800.

I doubt I would be so lucky, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

i850e will support PC1066 RDRAM. Regular i850 won't. Bigger picture: this isn't the right thing to blow money on for an upgrade :Q Sell the Gateway whole, and move on up to something modern, that's my 2¢ worth

I think SiS is STILL coming out wiht newwer Rambus memory boards, but intel has pretty much said Rambus is dead


So if you want the most current Rambus setup look at the SiS rambus chipset.

BUT I would rather have DDR, cheaper and more boards

Really? I whonder why it is still on their site under current products? Weird, but I guess with DDR2 coming and even Intel turning its back on Rambus it is fianlly dead?
