I only have coffe cup free ftp and it only does individual files (to my knowledge) for flolders I use bulletproof.

click servers select add
in the name field use what ever you want
in the hostname field enter the url "yourmamma.com"
the port generaly is 21 for non secure ftp.
if a login is required click Requires user name and passsword fill in blanks appropriately
local directory is the local of the folder you are keeping the site on your computer example= c:/web/site
I cant speak for your provider but my remote starting directory is www/
hit the blueish icon with the lightning through it.. double click the server you wanna connect to
drag files from you local folder (left) to the server (right)
