I want to upgrade from my current 19" KDS Visual Sensations monitor. Onvia has the NEC-MITSUBISHI AccuSync 90 Monitor on sale for $302.73. I'm assuming that since it's an NEC it's going to be a big improvement over my low-end KDS but I'd like to hear from people who have it now.

Shadow mask, 1600x1200@76Hz, .26mm dot pitch in a format I haven't heard of (trio?). Should be a pretty decent monitor.

On the other hand, maybe you would do better spending the extra $70 or so on a Samsung 900NF.

i don't see reason two switch from a low end 19" CRT monitor to another low end 19" monitor
it would be alot better if you go for low end 19" flat screen monitor

Good monitor, better than Samsung 955DF, but they use the same tube. $302 is not that bad of a deal, nice choice if you have a limited budget.

don't be cheap on the monitor
i can get ugly sound card, video card or anything even case
but i will have to look at my monitor everyday
so i would get a really nice one
it not just good for your eyes, it also good for eye pleasure :)

I think my roomate has an A90 and it is not flat. It is slightly curved. Also, text on a white background appears blurry near the edges of the screen. My roomate uses a V3 3000 which has pretty decent 2D.

I'd definitely take the 955df over the A90.

The accusync series is low-end, so it won't be a big improvement over your current monitor. If you don't want to spend too much, take a look at the Samsung 955DF. If you want to make an investment that's worth it, get a 900NF.

Thanks for all the input. Based on what you guys said, I'm going to pass on the NEC/Mitsubishi. As it turns out, a guy in the For Sale/Trade Forum is selling a Sony 20SE (20") for $265. I made arrangements to pick it up tomorrow afternoon.
