Here's gonna be my setup:

P4C 3ghz 800mhz fsb
1GB pc3200 Mushkin 222
Abit IC7-G mobo
ATI 9800 Radeon Pro videocard
SB Audigy
(4) harddrives
(2) optical drives

What do you recommend wattage-wise for this setup? I've been looking at the Lian Li pc-60 case w/ Antec TrueBlue 480watt psu, but that'll run me roughly $200. I was also looking at the Antec Lanboy w/ 350 watt psu for $99. Would 350watts be enough, or should I go for at least 400? I want an aluminum case with a quality powersupply, but not spend a fortune if I can help it.

In my current system, I have running on an Antec 350watt:
p4 1.7ghz 400mhz fsb
512mb pc800
geforce3 ti200
sb audigy
(6) harddrives
(2) optical drives

....and its currently running great. I'm actually kinda surprised, I was expecting my power supply to throw a fit with all that crap! 😛 But that is what you get with a quality psu. I figure, though, that my new system will be drawing more power. Any ideas?

If it's a good quality PSU, I would think that 350 watts would be enough, as you seem to have less in the new setup than the previous. If it were me, I would go for at least 400 though.

Overkill? I don't know about that. You've got a lot of stuff in that rig, and I'm assuming there's some case fans in there somewhere right? Even if it is overkill now, are you going to add more stuff later?

I don't know which is better.

The TruePower regulates the voltages tighter than the SmartPower, it runs quieter than the SmartPower and also has a set of thermally-controlled molex connectors that you can plug your fans into. The fans will run at about 5V when things are cool and ramp up to about 11V at full speed.

I'd choose the TruePower over the SmartPower unless money's real tight.
