Super high output. I'm not sure what the package consists of, probably the usual sports package though... bigger engine or higher comp, better suspension maybe bigger wheels and brakes.

SHO = Super High Output. The engine in the SHO is very special. Although it is a 3.0 liter V6 it is not the standard 3.0. It uses a steel crankshaft and steel rods that have been balanced and have been tested to 10K RPMs reliably in stock form. The pistons are forged. The heads are special 4 valve per cylinder units made by Yamaha and the intake system is an interesting dual runner system that uses longer runners for torque at low RPMs and switch at 4K rpms over to the shorter runners for higher RPM horsepower. It is also the only Taurus in which you will find a 5 spd transmission. Overall it is a very fun car to drive that has a lot of HP for a 4 dr family sedan.

You wouldn't believe how many of those I've seen blown up.

I never said you couldn't blow them up. The reciprocating mass is good to about 10K but you can still blow them up due to all kinds of causes. A dumbass can blow up just about any engine out there. Almost every one of them I see in the junk yard has a blown up engine. The stock valvetrain and cams are not good past 7K and if you push it enough times you are going to drop a valve and kill the whole engine.

Whoa! That's some cheap rotors. My brake pads cost more than that, let alone rotors

IMO they're garbage.

Sorry.

Believe whatever you want, makes no difference to me. Mine has been the most reliable car I have ever had. It has tons of power and gets 30 mpg on the highway at 70 and is almost as fast as a Mustang if you know how to drive it. I don't beat on mine and it has 220K miles on it. You can think whatever you want.
