I am soon to be converting a room in our house from a multipurpose room to one designated specifcally for TV viewing. This room is also where my main rig is setup so its the perfect time to start it on some HTPC duties considering it has a Hauppauge PVR250. The mobo is an ATI Xpress 200 based board with HDTV out etc etc and connecting the video to the TV won't be a problem. Sound however I think will be. I currently have the PC hooked up to a cheap set of Boston Acoustics speakers which is fine for everyday PC use (I'm not a gamer). Since this box won't be a dedicated HTPC but a multipurpose PC how can I go about outputting audio to the TV speakers to watch shows etc? The line out on the sound is already hooked up to the cheapo speakers.......
Specs on the mobo can be found HERE
What I am hoping to do in layman's terms is the following:
When Person A is on the PC the sounds from the web site, online game, YouTube, whatever come out solely through the PC speakers
and
when Person B is simultaneously watching on TV a movie coming from/stored on the same PC as Person A is using then the sounds of the movie and only the sounds of the movie will come out the TV speakers.
Any and all input is appreciated
