I get the cpu and the mobo together and turn it on, fans go but no beep, put the video card in, video card fan works too all fans work but no post. So I figure darn I got a bad opty 148. Thought it might have been cuz the casing in the box was broken, green stuff everywhere and cpu flyin around. But then I try my 165 in that setup and my 165 didnt work in there but it works fine in my setup. So I have a cpu that for sure doesnt work and possibly a mobo?? I have no idea put together 2 rigs in 2 days and im fried. Ideas? Mobo is Asrock 939Dual, cpu Opty 148, ram is corsair value. Only thing I can think of is a screw might be stuck under the mobo but im not sure could that cause a grounding issue and cause the board not to work with a known working cpu? I just tryed it on a piece of cardboard out of the case and still no beep. Weird because the board seems functional, I just refuse to put my 165 in it again for fear of something happening. How is newegg with RMA in a situation like this? Should I rma both of them?
