trying to beef up my friends HP pavillion, cely 700. Ya ya I know trash it and get a new one. Id love to but he cant afford it, he's 14.

Im just looking to get some more BIOs options, possibly up the fsb some and get BIOs to stop freaking ove the pci vid card I put in.

If anyone knows where to at least look for a third party BIOS Id much appreciate the information.

thx in advance

How about giving us more info about the system..........like the manufacturer of the mb. or atleast a model for the HP box.

Sometimes oem mbs are just different enough that the bios from the manufacturer will not work. You run the risk of rendering the mb useless with a incompatible bios. The safest option is to see if the mb has a jumper for 100mhz operation and see if the cely runs @ 100mhz fsb. Good Luck.

thats what I figured. Anyway, I may just go with a modded BIOS. Unicore.com makes replacement BIOS chips with your specific requirements. Guy on AMDZone did it to an old HP K6 system. Pretty expensive though it would seem.
