Need info on good tools for SMD work

Does anyone know of good places in the Los Angeles area to get precision soldering tools for SMD work? I need to bypass this bastard of an RF filter in my new GTS, and my current soldering iron is too large to do this. I tried looking in Fry's, RadioSnack, various hardware stores, without finding what I need. These people in the stores look at me weird when I mention SMD soldering work. All they know is wires and such.
