Tried this in software forum but no feedback. Surely there are some users here that know this. I'd appreciate the info
I bought a Sony console MD player many years back and archived quite a bit of stuff on it from old LP's and other analog sources to eliminate clutter.
No regrets about that, but I want to transfer a lot of that stuff to other formats now. It has meant yet another analog transfer, and what I've done thus far has been real time .wav recording. Even so the quality suits me considering the source material I want to save, but you can imagine I don't want to spend endless hours overseeing such transfers if I can help it.
So I want to know from users of newer generation MD players about USB transfer software. I presume that the file transfers mentioned on the package are from pc to player, but is there also a provision for the reverse? And if so, any chance that earlier MD format recordings would work? If there's any hope for this, I'll pick up one of the clearance MD players at the store now.
I've done a bit of searching online and found not very much on the subject, though there seemed to be criticism of the transfer software at the time. Any thoughts?
Thanks for any input
