Well, being the retarded person that I am, I accidentally made a few scratches on my FOP38 when I was cleaning off the thermal junk, and I think it could be affecting my HS's performance (my Duron 600@997mhz is running 45C with RC5, 29C ambient case temp). Can someone tell me what grit sp's I need to get and how long to use each one of them? Thanks.

Get 400, 600, 800, 1K, 1500, & if you really want to do it right 2000. Go to an automotive store & get your paper there, it'll be made for metal work & paint. You'll be wet sanding, too, at least up to 1000.

Use the first level (400) until the entire surface has been sanded (eg the scratches are gone, & the surface looks consistent). Then work your way up, with each level completely eliminating the scratches left by the previous level. At 2000 grit you'll be approaching mirror smooth...
