Need Info Comparing DV Cameras

I have determined that my next toy will be a Digital Video Camera (so as to directly edit my home videos on my PC).

I want the best bang for the buck and have a limited budget (not top of the line - as far under $1000 as possible).

What would you recommend? And especially reliable INTERNET SITES to help me do research before I buy so as to make a good choice?

Let me clarify . . . size is not crucial (I searched - the only post in the last 2 months was on the mini DVs).

I just want to be pointed in the right direction - what web sites helped you in your choice and purchase of a DV cam?

Of course, any suggestions as to specific models - rants and raves - are appreciated.

I just bought a Canon ZR20 at Circuity City b&m for $579 with a free firewire kit by mail. I also bought the firewire kit they had free after rebates.

It's not bad. It has analog in, which I wanted. I think all the lower end ones are a little "fuzzy" in low light. I haven't taken it outside much yet. (It's 110° here lately)

Thanks, Relayer.

I am looking sor some good DV Camera comparisons. I just don't want to type "DV Camera" into a search engine.

I am looking for reviews, comparisons, pluses and minuses (and personal experiences) of what's available AND a good deal.

As I understand it, "analog in" is mostly for copying older tapes. I am starting fresh as my last camera was Super 8. 😱

It was 111.7F in the patio today. 🙂 A great time to stay in and research.

AWESOME! I see you did your research before buying. I now have 3 new bookmarks and a place to start.

Thank-you!

Thanks, again. Added to bookmarks.

This is a never ending cycle . . . after I get my DVC, it looks like an upgrade to dual processors . . .
