Hello,

I currently have a surround sound system rigged up from a couple of 2 and 3 piece systems. I've been want to buy a 5.1 system, but am low on cash.

I would like to spend under $50 if possible.

I have found some possible choices,

"CINTRE DVD Player Speakers RW-6525D 5.1 - RETAIL" - 80 Watts from Newegg.com - $40

"CINTRE DVD Player Speakers RW-6580D 5.1 - RETAIL" - 60 watts from Newegg.com - $29

But I don't know much about them. If you know of any other low cost decent speakers that would be helpful too.

All help appreciated

the best speakers for a budget 5.1 sound system would probably be the logitech z640's.. but they are $65 at newegg.. a bit over your price range.. well worth it though..

5.1 sound is only important if you play a lot of games (that support 5.1) or dvd's.. other than that, the center speaker will be useless.. if this doesn't fit your description, then look at a 4.1 setup instead... it is just missing the center speaker.. you will also find these at a cheaper price.

I do play a fair amount of games on my PC and i also watch DVD's on it so i really would like to get a 5.1 speaker system.

I have looked in to some cyber acustics sets from tigerdirect, the 100w 5.1 system in particular.

I really would like some info one the above set and the 2 sets mentioned in my first post. Please Help.

I sort of like Altec Lansing for speakers. Their Model 251 rocks for music and games IMO. 25 watt sub. $65 @ newegg.com
