my computer is currently dead, and im almost positive its the power supply. im not willing to spend the $50-$100 on a new one until im sure, and id rather not pay some store $50 to keep it over the weekend. The only other power supply ive got that might work is in a powermac g4 quiksilver (867 mhz). i think it might work, all i need to do is plug it in for a few seconds to see if it can start up. the psu in the mac says AcBel on it (not sure if thats the manufacturer or what) and that its 344W max output. would it work?

I'd try it...or go to someplace and buy a power supply tester...I know Circuit City sells them...

thanks guys- i picked up a psu tester at circuit city, and it was, in fact, the power supply that gave out on me. just ordered my replacement.
