Need ideas: TV capture cards

I'm in the market for an inexpensive TV capture card. I'd love to get a Tivo myself, but my wife won't let me..🙁

Anyways, what I've been looking for is something that can offer me something along the lines of what I could get with a Tivo (mainly the auto record features).

I've looked at the ATI TV Wonder card, but I don't know of anyone who has one, so I can't see how it works, nor any reviews on it.

Does anyone out there have any experience with the card, or if they can recommend another card that's <$100.

I purchased a Hauppage WinTV Go! PCI cheap at Office Max, and it's given me nothing but trouble on my Dell Dimension 4100. (Was using a 32MB TNT2 M64 back then.) I managed to get it to display TV and take screen caps, but it crashed all the time and wouldn't record video. Maybe some people have better luck with Hauppage cards, but I wouldn't buy one again.

Leadtek Winfast 2000 TV Deluxe

~$50 @ newegg. I haven't had any problems with the capture card . Has EPG also

It's been working great on my comp, 2.4 ghz w/radeon 9700 pro...only 20 bucks at Compusa a couple of weeks ago...

I've had one of these for a long time, and only recently replaced it with a WinTV PVR-250. The Go! card worked well, but I wanted something better that would offload some of the work from my CPU so that I could use my computer for other stuff while doing video capture. My new 250, with it's built-in MPEG encoder, fit the bill perfectly. It also allows me to capture in full 720x480 resolution without dropping frames.

I think that the Go! just had problems with Dells for some reason. I know you were supposed to have it in the top PCI slot on Dell machines; but even with that, it still gave me problems. Also, the old TNT2 video card probably didn't help things. But overall, I wasn't impressed that much with the interface, even when it was working.
