Stay away from the emu egg. All it does is cut itself and whine.

Do like the hard or soft boiled idea.

small pigmy...better more rare than well as they are kind of tough already.

I recommend a slow cooker for about 8 hours.

While I'm a sucker for poached eggs and can do them pretty well, I'd imagine poaching an egg that size would be very difficult.

Someone was giving away an emu near me, I thought about it, but just don't have the room.

I've heard that they make great pets. You could just let it roam the house...

<disclaimer> The only pet worse than an emu I could imagine is a ferret. I have been brutally attacked by emu's at petting farms in the past </disclaimer>

I've come to the conclusion that I don't want to own any exotic animals, but I want to be friends with someone who does. That way I can hang out with their crazy menagerie of ferrets, raccoons, emus and sugar gliders and then go home and not have to clean up their poop of listen to them at night. Basically, I want to be friends with the owner of a petting zoo....

Sounds like my feelings towards kids...
