Heyas all,

I'm trying to come up with ideas of things to do in groups of people. We're breaking this down into Four Categories: Men's Night (adults or teens), Women's Night (adults or teens), Couple's Night (just adults), and Family Night (adults & kids).

Men's night we normally do an outdoor Monday Night Football game with a cook out.
One of the Family Night things is going to be an Outdoor Movie and cookout/pot luck dinner.

Other generic ideas are dinner out, bowling, going to the movies, etc.

These are to be Social events of a "Get to know each other" type for the church that I go to so generally ideas that allow people to interact with each other.

If you have any suggestions for me, let me know.

Thanks!

Orgies are always great when you have the right group.

On a more PG level, if you know someone who has a boat and you live near a lake, get some chairs, tables, canopies, and make a boating/bbq/beer day of it.

Help out at a soup kitchen. It will make everybody appreciate never doing so again.

Bocce

Frisbee golf

Outdoor movie night (projector + screen, byoblanket)

Life-sized chess where pieces have to battle each other with funoodles each move

Swim party

DIY pizza party (have someone making crusts and manning the oven, everybody assembles their own pizza using piles of toppings pre-prepped)

Wine tasting (everyone brings a bottle; pick themes like country, varietal, etc.)

Beer tasting

Team trivia

Video scavenger hunt (get a phone number from someone of the opposite sex but must include creepy line x, order one packet of ketchup in a drive through, etc.)

Trade up - everyone starts with a paperclip and has to go place to place trying to trade up. The team that brings back the best thing wins.

Goop games - buy a bunch of Soil Moist, water well and throw it on a tarp or in a kiddie pool. Turns into harmless jello-like substance. Great for kids; hands and knees only! Don't let people stand in it or you risk falling and cracking a skull

Chili cook-off

Elocution party (this sounds lame but everyone we invited has BEGGED us to do another one) - everyone brings a favorite reading, whether poem, story, book excerpt or weird tales from the internet, and reads aloud

Collective story-writing - someone writes a paragraph, covers the majority of it and only lets the next person see the last sentence, and the next person writes the following paragraph and then passes it on in the same way.

Telephone pictionary - write a phrase, next person sees the phrase and draws a picture, next person sees only the picture and writes what they think it is, etc.

Newlywed game

*sigh* Should have known this would go downhill fast. Didn't expect it to be quite that fast though...

Have everyone dress up in their best suits and head for a wealthy neighborhood. Then pass out small books for each person to carry. Start waking in small groups and observe as cars drive by and stare. Watch as lights go off in houses and drapes are closed. Soon a police cruiser will appear and armed officers will get out and demand an explanation of the nature of your excursion. Everyone will share a big laugh when you tell them you are just taking a leisurely stroll with your friends.
