I'd like to take my gf on a vacation for her birthday in February. Both of us dislike the cold, so we were thinking of somewhere warm like the Caribbean. A place with a good/vibrant arts scene would be good as she is an artist/art teacher, nice beaches (obviously), relatively quiet (minimal party goers/spring break crowd), water activities like snorkeling, swimming with dolphins, hiking, nature preserves. I guess this describes quite a few places, but wanted a starting point. I was looking for an all inclusive type deal, where would be a good place to look for - apple vacations, for example? Oh, and an all adults type resort (no kids) would be ideal, I like kids, but dont need screaming, running kids when I want to relax and de-stress. Oh, temps ideally should be 75-85.

I was looking at the USVI, but those appear to be a bit expensive.

GF and I are taking a Caribbean cruise around that time of year, We're driving from IL to New Orleans, and staying there a couple of days, then we are getting on a Carnival boat and going to Cozumel and Progresso (both in Mexico.)

I was pretty astonished at the price, only about $500 for both of us for 5 days for the cruise. It doesn't include drinks, which will add to the cost, but it should still be a good deal.

The temps will likely be a bit cooler than what you listed though, probably need to go farther south for 75-85 temperature... Jamaica or the Cayman Islands perhaps... Dunno about all inclusive resorts down there, but I've been to Jamaica once as well as Grand Cayman, and they were both pretty awesome.

Where in Jamaica did you guys go - Braco, Montego Bay, Negril, Ocho Rios, Runaway Bay?

We just got back from our cruise to the Bahamas. It was 4 night through Norwegian and included all the food and a lot of activities although it was pretty easy to spend more on excursions and alcohol. It was $169 PP for a 4 night cruise(~$500 after taxes and fees IIRC). Very few kids running around onboard

I know people who have had good luck with Apple Vacations but have never used them myself (More of an Android Vacations fanboi :p)

It was a cruise, we stopped in Falmouth for a day, went to the falls. Lots of pushy street vendors, but, the island was incredibly beautiful otherwise.

USVI, BVI are nice, but not so much for all inclusives.
Punta Cana has a lot of all inclusive choices.
Stayed at the Riu Palace Punta Cana when it first opened in '06. Was really nice. Some kids, but barely noticeable (now that I think about it, maybe only one kid).
Very European crowd there, and the breakfast foods reflected who they catered to.
One of my favorite carribean vacations.
