Hey yalls....my 21st birthday is coming up soon and I want to do something big for myself. Was thinking about it and I really don't get to travel too much and would like to give that a go. Now, I have limited income I can put toward this and will start my trip in South Florida. I could probably get moeny from my parents for this trip as well. Overall, I can probably expect between 500-750 that I'll have to spend.

How do you suggest that I get the most bang for my buck. And if you don't think I should take a trip, what else do you think I should try.

(PS: I'd love to check out Boston area, so try to work that out if you can.)

how 'bout a pre-birthday Lan party? :D

As for your birthday...

Hmmm...21...so you can drink...(if you haven't already started :D)

Well, if all else fails...DISNEYLAND!

(not the greatest reply -- my mind is fried after doing some mad physics hw that I still dunno how to do...how the heck do you find the surface charge on a spherical surface?! ah well...I'll post something when I get a few hours of sleep. Crazy derivatives and integrals...)

Boston can be a wonderful, exciting city if you have a decent tour guide, I'd volunteer to show you around but I'm booked solid for quite awhile :)

Take that money, get in your car and drive, drive, drive.
There is nothing better than seeing the good'ol U.S.A. the old fashioned way.

I was planning to this around March...maybe as late as that following summer. And will probably just start driving. The only thing is I don't know how much time I can take away from work to do this. At the most, probably 4 days. And that's not enough to make it to Boston and back. :( I'm going to try to take a week off from work and do this. Other ideas?

DisneyLand (in CA) maybe. DisneyWorld in FL, absolutely not. :(

Yes, all that was needed in response to opinions on a vacation

Here's one that fits the "high excitement, low cost " mode for ya: Look around on the web for vacations to Costa Rica. During off-times (like Oct-Nov and March-April) many tour operators run killer deals to the most beautiful country in the Western hemisphere (mho of course) You can get a 7 day, all inclusive trip for around 700.00. That includes airfare and all the food and booze you can drink. Also, on many of thess excursions you can break it up into 4 days adventure and three days resort. The adventure part of the vacation takes you into the jungle where you can rappel across the tree tops. You also get to spend the night in the Cloud Forest and one other night gets you to an active volcano.(Costa Rica,as big as Conneticut, has 5 active volcanoes) Then you get to relax for three days on the ocean. This is probably one of the best things to do for the money. As a bonus, the people over there are extremely friendly.
I've done this and I cant wait to do it again. Of course, my 4 month old daughter has to grow up a little before I get that traveling jones again!

Peace

Okay....one last bump for good measure. Thanks again for your input, everyone.

BTW, Costa Rica sounds REALLY sweet. I'll check my local travel agency.
