Hey guys. i have a Soyo Dragon II Plus motherboard. I have a Intel Pentium 4 2.8C (512kb cache, 800FSB, HT). It is a 4 layer board for S478. I want to put on a better HSF for some overclocking. I have some questions. First of all, I move my case around quite frequently. I dont want to break my MOBO. I'd like a new cooler, but I have no idea what the weight limits are. I see weights od 350g. 500, 980g and it worries me. This is my current cooler. (That one is revised but its the same cooler really). I dont know how much it weighs. Can anyone tell me whether this mobo can tollerate a different cooler, and if so, a good model that wont break out a big whole in it .

If you're worried about weight, XP-90 is your best bet. Best weight to cooling ratio at 360g + fan.

i wont have to worry about breaking my board at 360g even if i move it? (I dont mean drop it, but pick up the case and move it to a different location).

According to SPCR, AMD and Intel reccomend 450g as the upper limit for HSF weight
but some here double that as long as the case is not transported.

I agree with the suggestion of the XP-90. Retail(w/fan) it can be bought for $32.

If you wish for a lite-weight HS that is not parallel to the board but perpendicular to it,
the Asetek VapoChill Micro might be worth a look.
