Need Honest Thoughts or Opinions On My System Build

First let me start off saying this is a budget build and was dealing with a limited amount of money. I work 2 jobs totaling 60-65 hours a week often to support my family and pay for the nice house we purchased last year. So building a computer wasn't a necessity by any means. My wife has a basic laptop we just purchased a few months ago and I have a laptop from work so our basic needs are met. My mother said if I wanted to put a system together she would put about 250 bucks into it as a Christmas gift and buy whatever I asked for off of Amazon. My sister would get me a monitor as my present. I of course would purchase anything else I would need. I am kinda second guessing some of my choices however. I would like the most powerful system I can get for the money. I do play some games here and there beyond just normal internet and everyday use. Tell me what you all think...

ATHLON II X3 Rana 2.7Ghz Processor - 76 Bucks - I hope to unlock the 4th core and maybe the L3 cache on this chip. From what I have read the 4th core unlock shouldn't be difficult and happens pretty often.

BIOSTAR TA785GE Motherboard - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-155-_-Product
I was able to get this off of Amazon for 58 bucks which I thought was a deal. Has the ACC bios for the core unlock and 128 sideband in case I dont want to grab a video card right away. Never owned a Biostar product before....

4GB Kingston DDR2-6400 RAM - Kinda kicking myself for not paying a little extra on the board and RAM to go DDR3 but I was trying to keep cost low...

WD 320GB 8MB Cache 3.0gb/s Hard Drive - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136098
Picked this up for 47 bucks on Amazon. Kinda wishing I had gone 500GB and went for the 16MB cache. 320GB is enough space for me but from what I am told now this hard drive is "old tech" and a 500GB drive with 16MB cache would be much faster. Also thinking of grabbing another one of these and putting them in RAID 0 for some extra performance....

BFG Tech BFGR550WGSPSU 550-Watt Power Supply - http://www.amazon.com/BFG-BFGR550WGS...d=CR3YFCLX7P6Q
- 58 bucks on Amazon. Looked to be a solid PSU.

APEX Vortex 3620 SGCC / ABS ATX Mid Tower Gaming Computer Case - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...=apex%20gaming - 40 bucks and free shipping on New Egg. Can't beat that.

HP 2159M 21.5 inch LCD Monitor - 199 bucks on Amazon. Nice setup.

Lastly I was able to find a PNY 9800GTX+ on Craiglist for 70 bucks. Perfect working order and under a year old. Can't beat that for the price! Any feedback on my build would be greatly appreciated.

TOTAL = 300$ with free shipping (ALL YOU NEED IS 50$ EXTRA and YOUR 9800GTX+)

That's a similar system to what I put together however the processor is going to be slower than what I picked. Even if the unlock doesn't work to give me a quad core, I would still have 3 cores.

the system itself totals 381 bucks....the build that brandon priced out was 300 but with a slow processor and only 2gb of ram

Biostar boards are ok...are you gonna overclock?
I had my biostar board with a e5400 up to 3.8.

3 cores are just fine but 4 are better ,good luck.
4 gb of memory is more then enough.
Good basic hard drive, nice price.
Psu is more then enough and good quality.
9800gtx+ will play most games at high settings with the 21 inch monitor. I just sold mine for 85$ ,but mine had 1gb memory.
Monitor you could have done better with 200$

Case....Well thats personal preference.

I think you got some pretty good deals.

Responding to your pm...
I like buying used parts also.
I really did only pay 400$ for all those parts in my signiture with windows 7 ultimate!
I just found a q9550 that does 4.0ghz for 150$,But I should get 100$ for my e8400 that does 3.6 on stock volts. I'm putting it up for sale in a few days.
