need hlep on SMC Router firewall

hi all,
I have SMC router and I want to run MIRC to download stuff 🙂. I have problem of downloading stuff. anyone know do i by pass the firewall without using DMZ ?

There are two options to bypass Firewall protection in Cable/DSL Routers.

1. You put the whole system in DMZ, which basically neutralizing your protection (not a good idea).

2. You keep few ports open to allow specific application to bypass the Firewall.

In the Barricade, these setting are under the "Special AP" menu.

This link will show you the principle, it was posted for Linksys Router, but it is the same principle for the Barricade.

how do i put the computers in DMZ zone. i saw this but I think it don't give me a range of ip at all

Log into the Barricade, enter you pass word, and get the main menu.

You will see few Categories:

Special AP

Access Control

Misc Items

You can out only one computer in the DMZ.

Each one of these menu deals with certain aspects of the Firewall.

Read the manual for specific instructions.
