I am looking for some info from someone more tech-savvy than I am...

I have set up a lan in my house linking four computers.... we have two small kids. We often spend the envenings out in the garage with friends.

I have a computer set up in the garage that I use for my mp3 player.

I would like to be able to set up a little webcam like the little $29 creative labs webcam and have the video show up on the monitor in the garage over the LAN. The literature for most of these webcams have software to automatically upload pics, so I assume it would not be a big deal to upload across a LAN rather than to a website.

Is this possible/easy? What are the pitfalls or things I need to think about? The lan, by the way, is completely self-contained with no outside access (I access the internet via a dialup on my laptop, not connected to the LAN most of the time) so I dont see an issue with others intercepting pics of my kids sleeping.

Any thoughts/help/advice MUCH APPRECIATED. Any websites you know of that deals with this would also be appreciated.
