NEED HELP!!

Im Planning to use an internal IDE Hard Drive as an external one with an enclosure.


Could somebody please give me some info on if what im doing is ok or not?...

Is it better to have this setup or just go for an external hard drive...coz the prices and also the speeds of the external drives are not too satisfactory.

Another solution may be to put your IDE drive in a box that converts it to USB 2.0 or Firewire. Here's a list of links from Google. In a quick checkd, I found prices ranging from $30 to $100+ for the box.

found these cable convertor prices...are you trying to add a 3rd/4th drive?

i have a laptop and i need a second drive..thats why...
is it better to just go for an external USB drive?..or buy an IDE drive and get an enclosure for the same..coz the latter is cheaper and i can also get a drive with an 8 MB cache.
