I hope this is enough info.
I have winxp pro, I also have two 40 gig WD hard drives that have been added and set up
in a striped mode. When I boot up and check the raid all is ok and it is there, finish booting up and check raidmgr and it showes it there, but dam it it is not there in start menu, and I have checked device manager and under raid controller it showes ITE IT8212 ata raid controller with no errors, but the drives are not there. 80 pin connect IDE3 and IDE4, giga-byte said remove jumpers on WD hd's no change. with without it just not there
This raid is not bootable use it only for Video storage, any help out there,

Disk Manager?, sorry but I am lost do you mean device manager.
HD have been formatted and fdisk using dos, my talk with giga-byte said that I did not need to format and fdisk. I am new to XP where is disk manager, thank's for the help

Right-click My Computer, choose Manage, click Disk Management. That is where you partition and format in W2K/XP.

That's it, Learning something new. Thanks win XP pro is new to me and this one had me stumped, so if Win-XP is a new install I install the raid drivers when I install the operating system. But if I install the HD's after WIN-XP is loaded I need to use the Disk Management,
Oboy a new toy to play with. Thanks again.
