Need help with zen micro softeware

I have the creative zen micro and just recently when I tried syncing it to my computer, it wouldn't connect. I've been having problems with the media explorer software lately so I was thinking maybe it was a driver issue, can anyone come up with any suggestions?

When I plug the device in I do here a sound like the one it plays when the player connects, but the sound is different and i'm pretty sure it means there's some kind of error.
