Need help with xp/vista dual boot issue

I bought an acer pc and it had 2 partitions, vista was on the acer #1 partition and I put xp pro on partion 2 called data.

Now the pc just goes to xp pro and does not offer me the option to chose which OS to boot to. I know in vista I can set a default OS to boot to but I cant get into vista to do that. I still see the vista partition in explorer

can you tell me how to get that choice when starting pc?

thanks.

You need to install the oldest OS first, so XP and then Vista.

The other way around will create what you have described.
