Need help with XP Pro install!

Ok, so I made the boot floppies, formatted the new HDD to NTFS, plugged in the full install disc when prompted, let it do its thing and then rebooted when prompted. Supposedly the install will continue once I reboot, but the computer just looks to boot from ATAPI CD-ROM and then gives me an error message "boot failure...insert system disc". Why can't it see the XP disc? This is driving me crazy, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Forget about the boot floppies. Re-format your system, and go into the BIOS and set the computer to boot from the CD-ROM drive, if it does not do that already. It should load fine off the CD. I tried using the floppies, and it gave me a headache, but it works fine just off the CD. Hope this helps.

I installed winxp within Win2k. It wouldn't allow me to run setup in "dos" using my win98 boot disks...

did you get it working yet?
