a question.
i cant install ati cat 5.12 drivers, i dont know why it gives me a INF driver not found error when installing so i installed omega drivers which arent working as there supposed to be. well when i open up ati tool my default speed is 600/700. which isnt great. why? and how do i make the default go back to 500/500?? is there anyway to reset a videocards bios?

when i boot up the computer i cant go into the ati control center. it says error reoprt your motherboard to the company or something like that. and when im running on the SO called Omega drivers my card runs at 80C! so i use a ocing tool to get it down to 500/500

how can i flash the cards bios back to 500/500. becuase when i go in to right click properties display properties the ati overdrive is at 596. i dont know why. and i thought default speeds are at 500/500?

Not that high at all . . . many people have their XL at 2V mem voltage and above . . .

As for the clocks things, sounds like a driver and or bios error . . . you should be able to flash the bios, if you can find one . . . if not then just dump you BIOS @ 500/500 with ATI Tray tools and flash your card with that bios dump . . .

lol, calm down buddy

atitool does not work properly with the x1000series yet...assuming u have the latest version, which is .25 beta 10

you woulda known this urself if u clicked on the "discussion" link at techpowerup

anyhow...600/700 is the default speed for the xt.

the overclocker tool in your link shows the correct speed and voltage, 1.8v is stock for the ram

dont use atitool until it has full support.

I got that same INF error. I solved it by downloading the 5.12's for 64-bit Windows because I was using Windows XP X64.

1.8volts.............fine for the memory on that card.
you GPU voltage is 1.25volts.....again fine. no need to worry

heck normal DDR in your computer can take upto and some take over 3volts.

i dont think i mentioned anything that is xt specific, except for the atitool speeds being incorrectly displayed

Download Driver Cleaner. Do complete uninstall of all old ATI drivers and files. Then restart your computer and try again.
