I just got a new printer, and when I try to print documents already on my computer the document is reformatted before printing. It is important that my documents do not change, because the spacing is very important and I am unable to use the modified versions.

I have heard this is a common problem with wordperfect when you change printers. I have already tried the "Do not use printer metrics" workaround but had no luck.

Does anybody have any other ideas for making it so my old documents do not change when I try to print? The old printer was a HP Laserjet 5, and the new printer is the HP Laserjet 1320. I have tried the pcl6 drivers and the postscript drivers with no luck.

Thanks...

If you want to solve the problem completely without having to fiddle again later:
Make sure the new printer is your default printer, reinstall WordPerfect

If you just want to temporarily solve the problem on a session by session basis:
Open the print dialog, select the correct printer, close the dialog.

The second way only works for that single session of WP.

Thanks for the reply.

The second solution that you mentioned does not work. As soon as I select the correct printer and close the dialogue box the document is reformatted. If I select the old printer again and close the box, then the document goes back to normal.

I will have to consider reinstalling WP. This problem is maddening =/
