need help with wireless router..

Enable MAC filtering, and also either WEP or WPA-PSK encryption for starters.

how do u enable it?

also.. will installing a wireless router be like the same thing as a regular router?.. its so confusing.. like do i set up the computers BEFORE i enable mac filtering?

RTFM on how to enable MAC filtering, WEP, and WPA-PSK.

And yes, you want to make sure you know your computer's MAC addresses before you enable MAC filtering.

To get into it (since no one else told you yet...) open a new IE window (or whatever your browser of choice may be) and in the address bar type 192.168.1.1 and press "enter" (or "go" or whatever your preferred method may be).

I would suggest you go with the a 128-bit WEP encryption. It seems to be the most common option, and it's reasonably well secure.
After you have done that, any device would have to enter a string of digits and letters (think of it as password) to get connected with your router
