need help with win2kpro and novell client logins

Senior member
am currently using a novell server and windows 2000pro.
No money to upgarde servers.

The network login client is novell client for windows nt/2000.
I login via the novell client (required to use the novell server applications and environments) and then need to login again
via the windows password window.
How do I get the windows 2000 password window from appearing i.e. via registry hack or removal of the password window requirement?

I have already tried the setting under start-->settings-->control panel--> users and groups
where user does not have to enter a logon/password.
What that does is to ignore both the novell login and the win2k login. In effect cutting off the application server and network volumes.
TIA,

Is your primary network logon set for netware? Or is it set for windows? I'm trying to visualize how we set them up at work and I can't seem to recall doing anything special to get the PC to only log in once. Are the Novell and windows user name and password the same? Give me a few, I'm still working on it.

I believe there's a setting in the Novell Client to synchronize passwords. And/or: I think when the client comes up, there may be a checkbox to sync the logins.

If the Novell Login ID and the Windows ID/Password are the same, logging into Novell will log you into Windows.

Worse case, there's always manual setup.

Good Luck

Scott

Thanks for the tip. I will try it when I get back to work on Monday. I'll keep you informed as to how it goes.
Thanks again.
