Need Help with Video Card Hell!!!

Hi Guys,

I have been searching the internet and have not found a good answer to my problem.

My old ATI wonder (AGP card, DFI Lanparty Mobo, AMD processor) died for heat prostration.

I bought a new VisionTek card with auxilliary power inputs and can't make that happy, even with new quality power supply.

Bought a cheap Radeon HD2400 Pro card to get buy with.

How can I get this new card fired up with the proper drivers? I cannot uninstall the old ones because I cannot see the screen with the old dead card. Safe mode is either not responding or I am simply over anxious and not pressing the function key at the right time.

Can someone talk some sense into me? Please.......!!!!

You say you cannot see the screen but you can try to get into Safe Mode? Are you sure it isn't your monitor that's dead?

The monitor is fine. It very nicely tells me that my first new card is not happy with the power situation.

Right now, I get completely scrambled video so I wouldn't know if safe mode came up at all!

Must be my lucky day! I got the old video card to fire up and it has not yet started to streak across the screen!

Doing some quick updates and I should be able to uninstall the card and install the new one.

What a pain in the butt!
