Need help with vid card install--radeon 9100

Ok, have a new dell dimension 2400 with onboard video (intel extreme graphics, 845 chipset, no agp slot). Bought a visiontek xtasy 128MB Radeon 9100 PCI for it. I installed the card, and it booted up fine (win xp home). Installed drivers from cd, rebooted, and the windows xp screen loaded, but as soon as it went to the desktop the screen is blank. If I switch the monitor cable to the onboard the desktop appears. I checked the bios and the integrated video controller has two options--Auto and onboard. It's set to Auto, and the PCI is enabled. Tried downloading the most recent drivers from ati but same thing happened. What am I doing wrong?

You may have to enable the second display in XP. Go under Control Panel --> Display --> Settings...

Do you see two boxes with a 1 and 2 in them? It appears XP is seeing the Radeon as the second display. Trying playing around with the options here and see if that fixes the problem.
