Just got a Abit A8V motherboard and i cant get the usb drivers working. I have xp but i dont have service pack 1 so i cant get usb 2.0 to work but the only other drivers on the cd were for 98 and me. When i install the ones for the 98/me it completes the install but i still have excalmation point on the usb controller in the device manager.

It always wants to install VIA PCI to USB host controller. I try it but i still get a exclamation point next to it in device manager

Why don't you have service pack 1? That would be the easiest fix......

unless you can't install sp1, I'm not sure what your options are

delete the device in device manager, reboot....
dont install any drivers not meant for xp
install the via 4in1 drivers (latest version = 4.56)

try and find sp1 for usb2 support

i cant install service pack 1. I dont get it. It seems like if you have xp but not service pack one your screwed because i cant install usb 2.0 and i cant install the 98 driver but still I gotta believe theres option because there must be more people like me who dont have run into this.
