Need help with upgrading gaming PC Please

I right now have a DELL XPS.. 700.. to be exact.. XPS/Dimension 700

what I would like to do is.. upgrade everything on this computer.. and people ask why not just build a whole new computer? we'll that is the plan.. but I want to be able to use the same case.. and the same fans etc.. I was wondering what exactly could fit.... I was looking into going with Intel® - Core™ i7-960 3.2GHz Processor.. and build my way around that.. my question is.. is it possible that I can get this processor..and the right motherboard to fit correctly in this case.. the motherboard I was looking to buy was the ASUS Rampage II extreme LGA 1366 Intel x58 ATX intel motherboard..

If not what are my options? thank you!

it's a DELL XPS 700...how would I be able to find out if it is a ATX case? I tried to look online but had no luck!!! =D
