need help with TV tuner card

Don't have alot of use for one but the guy gave it to me for $12. Anyway I got the cable working and the sound working from the mic input on my NF7-S. But the sound has a high pitch sqeeling sound. How am I suppost to hook the sound up on a NF7-S?

Also whats the best format to record in that uses low HDD space? BTW its a Leadtek TV 2000XP Deluxe

Try the 'line-in' rather than the 'microphone' input. The mic input is probably not expecting a line-level signal.

WMV or MPEG4(DivX) are smaller than MPEG2 for the same effective quality (or, depending on your perspective, the quality is higher at the same bitrate). High-quality video is not small, though; expect at least a couple gigs/hour for decent 640x480 captures from an NTSC video source.

am I gonna have to loose my 4.1 if I use the line in? Can't remember if the NF7-S has its own line in or if the 4.1 sound shares it.

just looked in the manual and the mobo doesnt share line in and 4.1. But when I set the card to line in audio and switch the cable to line in I get no sound. I checked to make sure line in wasnt muted.

You got to turn the volume down when recording on the TV2000XP
otherwise the sound is screwed up

Hint.........
If you got an AUX IN on the sound card then connect the cable from the 2000 to that

You have to go into the configuration menu and select how you are wired up....
Aux In....Input...etc.....(I don't remember the choices)

well its working now but the high pitch noise is still there. I got everything muted but line in. Any ideas why its doing that?
