Need Help With TNT2

I have a P3 450 with a Diamond Viper TNT2 32MB Ram, I've heard from some that the det 3 drivers will slow me and down and others said it will make a marginal increase, so whaat drivers should I use? I also have 128MB ram and upping to 256 soon, the main game I play is Tribes

I think you should use the 3.xx or if you want to try out FSAA, then 2.xx. The 5.xx and 6.xx are slower with the TNT2 video cards.

I've tried higher and lower, but found the 3.68 drivers worked the best with my Diamond V770 TNT2 card.

I have 6.31 which is the det 3 drivers correct? So I should uninstall them and install 3.68? Also at tweak3d.net they have a tweak guide for the TNT2/TNT has anyone tried them and have good results? http://www.tweak3d.net/tweak/rivatnt/ Also they have a program there that you can OC your TNT, what are some good core and memory speeds?

I got the 6.47 drivers. They are better than the 6.31's - faster and more fixes.
I have used an OC program called "TNTCLK" which is very good. My M64's chipset was at 135 MHz before and after....160 MHz. My Memory was at 147 and is now at 155MHz.
Good Luck!!

Thanks holdencommodore,

Just a few more questions, will it matter that yours is a M64 and mines a Viper 700D TNT2? Whats the differences? Did you need to buy any extra fans or stuff for cooling?

The difference between a TNT2 and a M64 is that the M64 has 64 bit memory bandwidth compared to the TNT2's 128 bit memory bandwidth (I have 32 MB on board). The memory and core would also be clocked a little higher.
Since my card was already slightly overclocked (default for M64 is 125 MHz) it came with a big fan and heatsink on it - just ready for it to be overclocked! 😉
The TNT2 will be faster than the M64 thanks to the extra bandwidth.

I just installed the Det 2 drivers over my Det3 and that seemed to help and also instaled a reg tweak from TimmyC at Tweakfiles which also helped. If I am to overclock it what source of cooling would I need?
