Just finished building a system for a lady and i'm having some trouble. Heres the specs
ECS K7AMA with onboard lan and audio. 2ddr/2sdram slots ALI Mi645 chipset
Tbird 1.4ghz retail with retail hs/fan
256m(128x2) mushkin ddr
Geforce GTS 32m ddr
HP 9710i 16x10x40 ide burner
Maxtor 20gig ata 100
win 98
Windows installed fine. I installed the board drivers and then the video drivers and now i'm getting lots of system freezing but the mouse moves. It starts to read a disk and hangs. Screen tears at other times.
What the hell is going on. I noticed in the bios the cpu temp was around 140F at boot up!! This is using the retail fan and hs. THats hot i think? My overclocked bird averages 112F after a round a q3 but thats with a taisol cooler. COuld it be overheating? Are the any issues with this board maybe? I cant afford for this lady to have problems after i get it to her. IT almost seems as if thr problems started after installed the board drivers but I'm not for sure. Help!!!!
