Need help with this PSU

The Antec TrueControl II 550 come with:

"User-adjustable, individual dedicated circuits for +3.3V, +5V and +12V outputs. Get all the power you need when you need it most, and adjust it to your system?s needs."

What exactly is that used for?

also what does this PSU taken into consideration when adjusting its fan only connectors?

More marketing hypes to differentiate this product from the competitors. There is not much need to focus on the 3.3 and 5VDC power rail in a modern PC. Most quality PSUs already incorporate a circuit to maintain the output voltage near the theoretical target value.

Let the temp sensor inside the PSU control the fan speed. It's the most accurate way to keep the PSU cool and quiet.

If you can get this PSU for less than $75, then go for it. Otherwise look at other alternatives like the Fortron 500 or the Enermax 495 V2.0 (non-AX).
