Ok My daughter has been playing the sims 3 for a long time. I decided to spoil her last night and I purchased a bunch of different expansions. 5 in total thats plus the 3 she already has.

Now I have a bunch of questions I was hoping someone out there could help me with.

1. I have installed all the expansions. But Say when I go to load The sims 3 world adventure. It says its loading then it goes to the sims loading screen and it says University (I installed university last) Now is this supposed to happen. Like is it loading sims 3 university or world adventures. I dont play the game at all so I am not quite sure what is supposed to happen.

2. Where can I go to get guides to help me figure this stuff out.
a. Like how to send the sim to the university
b. How to send on world adventure
c. How to get the dragon valley egg thing
d. How to make the sim go to work. (sims ambitions)

Can I combine different things like dragon valley and sims work or is that not possible.
Basically any real info on how the game works would be appreiciated.

I tried to read Carls Guide to Sims 3 but it really didnt have the tech questions that I needed answered

Thank you anyone that helps. Or for anyone that took the 2-3 mins to read this lol I appreciate it.

I'll try to answer what I can.

1. Regardless of what Exp. packs are installed, it will always load the latest released one that's installed, which is University Life in your case. It's recommended to install each expansion in the order they were released for the best stability. Large numbers of expansion packs installed can really bog down the game, however.

2.
a) A sim can go to University via their smartphone or PC. One can use the aptitude test to ensure better placement, but it's not required.

b) World Adventures are accessed by sending your sim(s) on vacation to one of the three destinations for any duration you can select from the menu. Longer stays can be accomplished by earning visa points, though each location is independent of the others for tracking that. During your vacation, your home neighborhood is suspended so as not to lose progress while away.

c) Dunno, never bought it. However, there's a guide here.

d) Ambitions professions are situated in and around the neighborhood. When on call, you may get notifications asking you to head to a location to do specific tasks. Higher career levels are obtained by completing these objectives. Guide here.

A number of things can work across expansions, with exceptions: certain lots specific to a neighborhood aren't always able to cross over to other ones, due to lack of space or other factors. Ambitions professions (and normal careers) are on hold when on vacation, and vacation tasks are on hold (mostly) when you're back home.

thanks you really slayed the truth there lol jk

Hey but seriously truthslayer I appreciate the help. I have to say its pretty darn confusing with all this stuff.

Hey just one more question. When you join a university can you live in a dorm room. I think my daughter would find that really fun

and is there a way to remove the alchol from the game. Like I seen on the screenshots before I got it for her they have beer pong. Is there a way to make it juice pong? like some sort of parental guidence thing.

As per this, one can choose either renting a house, staying in a dorm, or joining a frat/sorority each time you go, but you can't change it mid-term.

Alcohol is already censored in the Sims series. It's called juice pong to begin with. World Adventures added nectar-making (which is based on wine). Hope this helped!
