Need help with the PC I am building

Here is what I have installed so far:

MSI BX Master
P3 700
Crucial 128MB PC133 SDRAM (1 stick)
Afreey 56X cdrom
Quantum Fireball Plus LM 30GB
Floppy Drive
Asus v6800

Whenever I turn it on the floppy drive light comes on and never goes off. Also it doesn't detect my HD or cdrom drive. The hard drive is plugged into ATA66 1, and the cdrom is plugged into ATA66 2. Can someone please help me here?

isn't it the Ribbon that's inserted wrong when you get that? I don't remember, but it's one of the two. pretty much can't be anything else.

When the floppy light stays on, it is because the ribbon connector is hooked up the wrong way.

Make sure you are using ATA-66 cables for the drives. Even if they aren't ATA-66 drives.

there should be a red line on the floppy, and IDE ribbons. Match up the red with pin one, as displayed in your manuals for each drive, and floppy drive. If you don't have pictures, assuming if floppy faces up, red line goes left, with the end with that is split going into the floppy, and the one that looks normal, into the mobo.

I hate flipping through my FDD and HDD ribbons...it's stupid!

Thanks. I just had the floppy wire plugged in the wrong way. Also I fixed the HD/CDROM detection problem by changing the boot order

hmm? your computer wasn't finding your HD/CDROM before?? are you sure all IDE Devices are under auto detect in the BIOS?
